WELCOME TO CHECKMATE COVID
Hosting Chess Tournaments to Fight COVID
Checkmate COVID is an organization that hosts online chess tournaments in San Francisco to raise money for the fight against COVID. The winners of the tournament get a cash prize that is donated to the COVID-relief charity of their choosing. We are looking for more sponsors and donations to help us raise more money for COVID relief, and we hugely appreciate any contributions!

ABOUT CHECKMATE COVID
Checkmate COVID was founded by Felix Kaye, Jack Jacobsen, and James Poetzscher, high schoolers in San Francisco interested in chess. We spent a lot of time playing chess during the coronavirus pandemic and decided that we could try to use our passion for chess to support coronavirus relief....
"The beauty of chess is it can be whatever you want it to be. It transcends language, age, race, religion, politics, gender and socioeconomic background. Whatever your circumstance, anyone can enjoy a good fight to the death over the chess board."
